NV Day Governors Banquet

Thanks year's Governor's Banquet was a tremendous success! View photos from the event on the Nevada Day Facebook page.

Keep checking back for details on the amount of the proceeds donated to this year's charities: Blue Star Mothers and Gold Star Families of Nevada, honoring our veterans, fallen soldiers, and active duty military personnel.

The past, present and future roles of Nevada's military and their families are being honored as part of the second annual Nevada Day Governor's Banquet. Governor Brian Sandoval hosts the event, along with the Nevada Day Board of Directors, to celebrate the anniversary of our statehood and honor the men and women who are serving, who have served, and who have lost their lives protecting our freedoms and preserving the American way of life.

The evening features:

  • Door prizes
  • Silent auction
  • Live entertainment
  • A photo area
  • Special guest speakers
  • A Nevada birthday cake-cutting ceremony
  • A global connection via Skype with troops stationed overseas

Special guest speakers:

  • Governor Brian Sandoval of Nevada
  • Carson City Mayor, Bob Crowell
  • U.S. Senator Dean Heller
  • Adjutant General of Nevada, Brigadier General William R. Burks
  • Miss Nevada 2012, Randi Sundquist

This celebratory fundraising event is held on the Thursday day before the official Nevada Day State Holiday, which is always observed on the last Friday of the month of October, and features an annual charity recipient(s), in addition to the non-profit Nevada Day, Inc.
