Parade
As the
state with the largest formal celebration honoring its
admittance into statehood, Nevada commemorate
144 years of
statehood during the annual Nevada Day Celebration, October
30, 31 and November 1, 2008 in Carson City.
The
highlight of the celebration is the Nevada
Day Parade with the theme for our 2007 parade "Hollywood
in Nevada - Movies and Television."
The parade meanders its
way down Carson Street from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on
November 1st. The parade kicks off with a 8:00 a.m. hot air
balloon launch on Carson Street (weather permitting...keep
your fingers crossed!) followed closely with a 10:00 a.m. flyover
of F-18 Hornets, F-16 Falcon, from the Fallon Naval Air
Station and C-130 Hercules from the Nevada Air Guard.
The parade features floats, marching bands, and a variety of entertainment. The
parade route begins at the intersection of William and Carson streets and
ends at the intersection of Stewart and Carson streets.
Awards in 35 categories are given including one for best
float, best band, best mounted equestrian group, and best
historical.
Thank you!
