A living icon in the world of rodeo, Tallman is known across the globe as “the voice of professional rodeo.”

Born in Orovada, Nevada, on October 25, 1947, Bob Tallman grew up on his family’s Willow Creek cattle ranch before his career launched him into arenas around the world. Over a career spanning more than five decades, he has announced over 23,000 rodeo performances across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand. He holds the record for announcing the National Finals Rodeo an astonishing 17 times, and his unmatched legacy includes being named the PRCA Announcer of the Year a record 12 times.

Beyond the microphone, Bob is a dedicated rancher and advocate for agriculture. For more than 30 years, he has raised Angus beef on his 3T Ranch in Poolville, Texas, serving over 200 clients in North Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, and New Mexico which he operates with his wife Kristen, daughter Nicole Pennel, son-in-law Daniel, and beloved grandchildren Canyon and Cashly. He is also the proud owner of Bob Tallman’s Authentic Cowboy Jerky, a brand that embodies his deep roots in the cowboy way of life.

Tallman’s contributions have been recognized with inductions into 11 Halls of Fame, including the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame, Reno Rodeo Hall of Fame, and Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame. His unmistakable voice, passion for rodeo, and love for his country and his home state of Nevada make him the perfect Grand Marshal for this year’s parade.

“Nevada is home—it’s where I was born, where I was raised, and where I first found my voice,” said Tallman. “It’s an honor beyond words to serve as Grand Marshal for a celebration that means so much to the people of this great state.”

The 2025 Nevada Day Parade promises a full day of festivities, celebrating Nevada’s entry into the Union on October 31, 1864. With Bob Tallman leading the way, this year’s parade on November 1st is sure to be one for the history books.
