Rules of the Parade
There has been some miss information being spread about town. We thought it wise to make a statement to clear the air.
The Nevada Day Parade Board for the 2023 parade made a rule change. The change was that we did not want any Political Campaigning in the parade. Because of the overwhelming number of positive comments about the change made it clear to the Board that it was a change the spectators appreciated. The Board decided to keep the change moving forward. That means no Campaigning in Nevada Day Parade 2024.
The other issue that has been misinterpreted is from the article in Carson Now June 20th.
The Board meet with the 2 major party leaders in Carson City to discuss how they could still e a part of our Parade. We went o the meeting to discuss our option of having a “Unity Float”. The idea was that we wanted to lower the temperature from politics in our Great State by having all other political people, all parties, walk in unison on one float. The theme for our parade this year is “All for Our Country”. This is our State Motto.
Let’s just say this idea was not well received by the Political Party leaders. One group of leaders was open to the idea but was not very confident we could pull it off. The other Party basically said it was a very bad idea and they did not want any part of it.
To make things clear, the parade is open to our current duly elected Nevada State, National and City Officials. They will be representing their office to Celebrate our Birthday Parade.
